John Hendry, OAM

John is known for his contributions to education in Australia, and this was recognised by the award of an OAM (Order of Australia Medal) for his service to education and cricket.

John was instrumental in bringing positive psychology to Geelong Grammar, working with the “father” of Positive Psychology, Martin Seligman, they applied Positive Psychology theory to education.

Though now retired, he spent 36 years at Geelong Grammar in various capacities, Teacher, Careers Master, Head of Boarding House, Director of Student (and Staff) Welfare and Acting Principal.
